Metal Separators

Eddy Current Non-Ferrous Metal Separators
Eddy-current separators are used to separate non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, etc.) from other alloyed metals or non-metallic materials. The feed must first be prepared so that the desired particle sizes are isolated before being fed to the separator. Selecting the correct number of magnetic poles and drum speed for the prepared particle size range is the most critical step. The BAS laboratory selects the optimum eddy-current separator for your particles and runs capacity tests. Mono-layer feeding on the eddy-generating drum is essential for high efficiency, while belt speed and the right vibratory feeder ensure correct centrifugal action — together delivering the most accurate equipment selection and best results.
Eddy-current separators generate eddy currents on the magnetic drum as it rotates at a specific speed about its axis with magnets arranged in specific fractions. As non-ferrous materials arrive at a specific speed, they enter the resulting current and accelerate, being thrown out of the current — separating non-ferrous materials from other materials. Eddy-current non-ferrous metal separators consist of an eddy-current drum, belt, feeder and drive group.
