Electrostatic Separators

Electrostatic Separators

Magnetic separators and eddy-current separators may not always provide complete results in different metal separations. For separation by electrical conductivity and degree of conductivity, electrostatic separators are a complementary solution. With other physical separation methods, efficiency loss can be experienced for mineral and metal grains of -1 mm or finer; electrostatic separators can deliver high efficiency even on fine materials. Typical applications include electronic-waste recycling, cable recycling, REE-bearing metal recovery, applications involving plastics, aluminium and copper, and mineral impurity separation.

Description

Electrostatic separators are used in mineral beneficiation and metal recovery applications. Separation works on the principle that the targeted minerals or metals to be separated are charged with electrostatic charges, allowing the particles to be separated from each other.
