High Intensity Roll Magnetic Separators

High intensity roll magnetic separators are used for high field-strength dry magnetic beneficiation and for the removal of low-susceptibility magnetic impurities.

Description

Separation in roll magnetic separators is achieved by first distributing the material homogeneously onto the belt over the separator using a high-precision feed drum or precision vibratory or electromagnetic feeders. The carrier belt runs over two rolls (magnetic and non-magnetic). When the material moving on the carrier belt reaches the magnetic roll, products that are non-magnetic or have lower magnetic susceptibility are flung off by centrifugal force into the non-magnetic chute, while the other material continues on the belt under the magnetic attraction of the magnetic roll and is delivered to the other chute, separating the materials.

Traditionally, roll magnetic separators are used in 1 to 3 stages. Roll magnetic separators offer applications between 0.5 Tesla and 1.3 Tesla across the effective surface area.
