Slag Beneficiation Plants

Micronized Iron & Steel Slag Beneficiation

The slag recovery plant covers steel-slag processing, recovery and filtration sections. In steelworks and foundry slag processing, all slag is ground and separated to recover raw material. Slag accumulated and continuously produced over the years can be recycled and re-introduced as raw material at plant standards.

Description

The main goal at slag beneficiation plants is to identify the particles to be separated from the slag through mineralogical study, crush and grind the material to the relevant particle size, and then remove the targeted particles with the appropriate separation method. After separation, auxiliary fluids used in the process can be reused thanks to suitable filtration.

The main beneficiation methods used in slag processing are:

• Gravity separation

• Magnetic separation

• Flotation or precipitation by hydrometallurgical methods

The most suitable and economical of these methods completes the operation. BAS laboratories cover the entire slag beneficiation work — from mineralogical study to on-site application and commissioning.
